New beginnings

SO i'm awful at keeping up with things, four posts and i'm out of the game!

I feel in the midst of a lot of change right now. I'm (temporarily) leaving the place I've called home for the past three years to embark on a bit of an adventure which has the capabilty to fall flat on its face - and porbably will!

First big deal is leaving my job. I've been a sales advisor for topshop/ whore to the consumers at topshop for as practically as long as I could legally be... which, including a brief break, is a shocking 4 years. Discount is the obvious bonus that I am going to miss. So, with one week of staff storecard use left, I had a bit of a splure on topshop.com.

I am SO excited about my parcel on it's way.

listening to yeal naim
So christmas has come and gone... nearly. I was very very lucky... my main presents being:
1) A speaker dock for my iPhone, replacing the battered speakers I have hung on to since I was 11 and have been completely ruined from use at my house parties.... I like to dance.
2) Coco Madmoiselle eau de parfum, my number one perfume for life. I still have my eye on the lookout for refills for my handbag eau de toilette.
3) New diorshow....mmm mmm mmm
4) Books, books, books
5) Gorgeous new chestnut brown brogues
6) Moleskines of varying shapes and sizes... one on New York for my summer expedition.
7) Watercolour paints

... and the list goes on.

Post christmas, I still have my eye on Dylan Thomas' selected poems...and my mums old slr camera. Because photography is going to be my hobby for 2009...but i'm going to do it old school style.

So what is built up for ends in a pile of wrappings to be burnt on the fire and Jane Austen's Mansfield Park beckoning.

Last year it was a sequined mini skirt for new years.... this year I have my eye on these.

Though I think i'd have to go for a high street version. It is only in my wildest dreams that I can afford chanel hotpants, even though these are two years old.

listening to aha - take on me yesssssss

So it's still christmas eve. The mother has just been in to tell me that she is filling up my stocking from "santa" and where do I want it. While some magic is gone slightly there are still the christmas moments...like walking down Dean Street on Monday in a snow storm (the fake stuff - think they were filming something)

Anyway I saw this picture of Marlon Brando and had to put it up because a) look at it and b) I finally found a leather jacket exactly like this one:

Christmas Eve

listening to the pretenders - breakfast in bed.

The day to stay in bed and while away the hours in the least productive way possible...My excuse is that I've come from London to the middle of nowhere and am just embracing the slowing of the pace.

As usual, the pre christmas London trip didn't disappoint. Loved the alternative christmas decorations on Carnaby street this year (massive inflatable snowmen...better, i think, than the oversized paper chains of 2007) and feel positively christmassy.

Also gave me a chance to hit the sale previews - got a gorgeous oversized cream cardigan from urban outfitters which i'll wear with my leggings and the lace up boots which I spotted in topshops shoe sale and will pick up in Edinburgh when i'm back for New Year.
